- 2 pounds ground beef 93/7
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 1/4 cups ketchup
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
- salt & pepper to taste
- 8 hamburger buns
Instructions
- Heat a large, nonstick skillet over medium heat and break apart the meat as it browns.
- Once the meat is browned, add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Stir in ketchup, water, Worcestershire sauce, ground mustard, brown sugar, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let it simmer for 5-10 minutes until the mixture thickens and most of the water evaporates.
- Spoon the meat mixture onto toasted hamburger buns and serve.
Notes
For extra flavor, toast the hamburger buns before serving.
Feel free to adjust the spice level by adding more chili powder or hot sauce.
Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
