Ingredients
Scale
- 4 thin-cut chicken breasts
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour, divided
- Salt & Pepper
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 2 Tablespoons butter, divided
- 8 garlic cloves, smashed
- ¾ cup chicken broth
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge the chicken in 3 tablespoons of flour until lightly coated.
- Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the pan and keep warm by covering with foil.
- Lower the heat to medium-low and add the remaining tablespoon of butter to the pan. Let it melt, then add the smashed garlic cloves. Brown the garlic lightly for 4-5 minutes, being careful not to burn it.
- Sprinkle in the remaining tablespoon of flour and stir until fully combined. Increase the heat to medium and slowly whisk in the chicken broth and heavy cream until smooth.
- Season the mixture with Italian seasoning, bring to a simmer, and cook for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
- Return the chicken along with any accumulated juices to the pan. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes or until the chicken is thoroughly cooked.
- Serve with a sprinkle of parsley on top, if desired.
