Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup superfine sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla


Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. Whisk the ingredients together until well mixed.
  3. Add the heavy cream and stir until combined; a few lumps are okay.
  4. Place the pot over medium-low heat and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until the mixture loosens.
  5. Continue cooking the chocolate sauce over low heat for 4 to 5 minutes until the sugar dissolves and the sauce is smooth.
  6. Remove from the heat and stir in vanilla. Cool for 5 to 7 minutes before serving.

Notes

This chocolate sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
To reheat, place in a small saucepan over low heat until warm, stirring often.
Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar to taste.
