Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound lean ground beef (I use 93/7)
- 1 small sweet or yellow onion (finely diced)
- 1½ cups beef broth
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic (minced or pressed)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger or ginger paste
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3 cups small chopped broccoli florets
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook and crumble the ground beef and onion over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease once the beef is no longer pink.
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, minced garlic, cornstarch, honey, grated ginger, and black pepper until well combined.
- Add the sauce mixture and chopped broccoli to the skillet. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for 5-8 minutes until the broccoli is tender to your preference.
- Remove the lid and cook for an additional 2-4 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
- Serve the beef and broccoli over cooked white rice.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of sesame oil before serving.
Replace ground beef with ground turkey for a healthier option.
Adjust the level of sweetness by varying the amount of honey.
