Ingredients
Scale
- 4 (7-8 ounce) boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 3/4 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 3/4 teaspoons paprika
- 1 3/4 teaspoons italian seasoning
- 3/4 teaspoon brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (218ºC) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Pound them to an even thickness if needed for consistent cooking.
- In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, and brown sugar (if using).
- Brush both sides of the chicken with olive oil, then sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides.
- Arrange the chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring there is space between each piece for airflow.
- Bake for 12–16 minutes, checking at 12 minutes. Cook until the internal temperature reaches 155°F, then remove from the oven.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute and the temperature to rise.
- Slice against the grain or serve whole with your favorite sides.
Notes
For enhanced flavor, allow the chicken to marinate in olive oil and spices for 30 minutes before baking.
Serve with a side salad or steamed veggies for a wholesome meal.
Store leftover chicken in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
